GJAZZ5 is the project of German / NZ bassist, composer and educator Olivier Holland who, for this occasion, brought together his all-time-favourite musicians from across the globe to Fattoria Musica studios in Germany to record 12 of his original compositions in March and April 2018.

The stunning result of these efforts is a unique compilation of 13 tracks (one by “Tank” ☺) that are written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered to the highest standards; 13 tracks, each one unique in style and collectively, exploring a multitude of genres.

A massive NZD 5,- of every physical CD album sold – be it in person, on a gig or, through the Timezone web-shop – will go towards saving our planet! Your money contribution will be used to support projects that save our oceans and/or combat climate change.

So, by buying Gjazz5, you are helping organisations such as “Avaaz” who need funds to turn a threatened slice of paradise, a large sea area off the west coast of Africa, into a beautiful marine sanctuary. If this doesn’t happen, this (one of the last remaining) nature strongholds on this earth will likely be destroyed by commercial fishing, like so many other places have been destroyed. Or “Carbon Click”, an Auckland company who specializes in carbon footprint offset. Olivier will post updates and donation receipts regularly on this website, so you know where your support is going.
